Research studies have shown that both trait and state levels of gratitude are positively related to our happiness, optimism, life satisfaction and positive affect ( Cited in Wood, Jeffrey and Adam, 2010). Gratitude acts as a motivator for social action (Roberts, 2004) and helps us to respond to acts of kindness (Emmons, 2004).

Traditionally, a sheaf of betel leaves is offered to express gratitude and to mark auspicious beginnings.

Betel/ Piper betel/ Piperaceae- Cultivated throughout South East Asia. Has alkaline quality and betel leaves possess immense therapeutic potential.Part of Asian culture for Centuries.
